Microsoft dalam beberapa minggu terakhir memang sering mengutak-atik tampilan UI mereka, khususnya di Widget. Kini mereka kembali mengubah beberapa elemen yang ada di Widget.
Perubahan ini akan didapatkan oleh mereka yang menggunakan versi Windows 11 KB5040546, di mana versi ini termasuk ke dalam Insider Program.
Sebagai contoh, tampilan Widget nantinya akan hadir di sisi kiri desktop, kini perubahannya akan muncul fitur Adds yang memungkinkan pengguna mengkostumasinya.
Akan tetapi laporan ini kami dapatkan oleh mereka yang menggunakan Windows 11 KB5040546 di wilayah EU saja, untuk US dan Asia belum mendapatkannya.
“Currently, the Widgets board uses Edge WebView, which can often be slow and feel out of place. This changes with KB5040546 where the Widgets board uses WinUI3, which looks much better than the old WebView2 engine.
However, the change currently appears exclusive to EEA users because Microsoft had to announce two interoperability points after the EU intervened.”
Dalam laman resminya, Microsoft juga memberikan konfirmasi bahwa mereka memberikan peningkatan untuk UI Widget Board dan juga API yang terhubung di beberapa negara.
“We are rolling out an update to the Widgets Board to improve security and the APIs for creating widgets and feeds for users in EEA regions.” Tulis Microsoft di blognya.
Lagi-lagi khusus wilayah EEA nantinya pengguna akan mendapatkan beberapa fitur tambahan, perusahaan memberikan akses pengguna untuk menonaktifkan Widget Board tadi.
EEA users will soon have multiple feed providers available, while the rest of the Windows users can sulk in the corner. However, there hasn’t been any announcement that third-party feed providers will be available to all users in the future.
Microsoft also lets you disable the default feed in the Widgets board. When you disable the default Microsoft Start feed and then click on the “Add more feeds” option, Microsoft Store launches. It only displays the Edge browser as an option. So, you are only left with the widgets pane on the board.
