The most exciting part of Need for Speed Most Wanted is when you have to escape from police pursuits, and there are lots of pursuits in the game. None of those events, however, is as exciting as being chased down by police. The pursuit can occur anytime, not just when you are in a race. They will do anything possible to arrest you. There are a few actions you can take to escape the pursuit, including ramming the pursuing vehicles, but all of them won’t help you much if you lack the skill in driving.

Whether to escape pursuit or win races, your car performance is as important as your driving skill. A few stock cars are available to choose from. Each can be modified. You can customize a car’s appearance to deal with its heat level and upgrade its performance by adding a reinforced chassis, nitrous boosts, powershot exhaust, among other things.

You need to accumulate the speed points to upgrade your car. During the pursuit, you will get speed points, which will disappear if you get arrested. While evading the police is a thrilling and rewarding experience, none can give you speed points as much as street races.

Aside from the stock car, you can also earn additional cars by defeating a rider who is a member of the Blacklist, which is a list of fifteen best racers in the fictional city named Rockport. Completing challenges is another available option for you to get more cars. When you complete a challenge, the next one will get unlocked, giving you another possibility to earn rewards.
