It is a mistake to think that Nitro PDF Reader is nothing more than just a software that lets you read some PDF files. There is more to it than meets the eye. It doesn’t have everything that Nitro Pro has but there are still a lot of good stuff you can get from it.

Nitro PDF Reader allows you to open multiple PDF files, each in its own tab. When you open another PDF file, it will appear in a new tab. You can switch between the tabs to read the pages in turn. Ctrl + Tab is a universally accepted shortcut key that the PDF reader supports too.

There is no limit as to the number of files you can open. It’s only your computer resources that will hold you back.

When you are reading a single document, you can read one page at a time or two pages at once in a side-by-side layout, either vertically or horizontally, in windowed or full screen mode. Switching between one view to another is as easy as clicking a button or pressing a shortcut key. And don’t forget, in the Preferences window, you can change the default page view to the one that you use the most.

Zoom in and zoom out are the other available features to control the way the pages are displayed for maximum comfort.

The bookmarks panel at the left side of the main interface making it very easy to jump to the section that looks the most interesting to read. And if you want to jump across pages, you can always type the page number in the field of the bottom bar and press Enter to go to the page.

One thing that you may not like, there is no option to add a custom bookmark, so you cannot insert a certain page as a new bookmark to the panel.

If you have add some comments to a PDF document that you would like another person to review those, you can share the document with that person by clicking File > Share.
